Phil Bowen Returns as Head Coach

The Wind Chill have reached an agreement to bring Phil Bowen back as Head Coach for the 2018 season. Bowen already boasts a remarkable career of playing and coaching for local teams Carleton CUT, Minneapolis Sub Zero, Surly Masters, and Minneapolis Pop – including an impressive ninecoaching appearances in championship games between club and college.

"Phil brings a tremendous amount of coaching experience to the table, and immediately garnered respect from our players when he came on board in 2017," said owner and GM Ben Feldman. "We are excited to have him back involved with the team, and look forward to building on the momentum generated during the 2017 season."

In 2017 alone, Bowen coached Carleton College to a Men's D-1 National Championship in Mason, OH, the programs fourth national title. He immediately continued on to coach the Wind Chill to their best regular season record in franchise history last year (11-3). He wrapped up the fall coaching season as he coached Minneapolis Sub-Zero to a North Central Regional Championship and their best finish at Club Nationals (8th Place) in over a decade.

"I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to continue to build relationships with the players and individuals involved with the Wind Chill organization," said Bowen. "Omar, Jim, and Surly Ultimate has done so much for both myself and the Ultimate community, which certainly added on to my already existing motivation to be involved with the team."

Phil will be working to assemble and build a team of assistance coaches in the coming weeks as the team begins to train and build up to the start of their season in April. He will be in attendance Saturday night at the combine as he looks to help assemble a roster that is prepared to make a deep run in the AUDL during 2018.

Pre-registration for the combine ends tonight at 7:00pm (Save $5). To submit your online registration, click here!
