PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Philadelphia Phoenix, owned and operated by Christina Lee Chung, MD, have unveiled their vendor lineup for Saturday night’s game against the Boston Glory, and are following through on their mission to make their Gameday more female-forward. Their vendors for the game, which holds enormous playoff ramifications, are all woman-owned.
“A recent study revealed that Philly is 47th out of 50 major cities in America when it comes to women entrepreneurs,” Chung commented. “That is unacceptable. But it also creates a ripe opportunity for those of us who own businesses to collaborate with our fellow female entrepreneurs to make a sizable difference in moving the dial. Every little or large bit contributes to collective change. So I’m really excited to not just be offering delicious food and drink on Saturday night, but offering it from women who are tackling, head on, the obstacles we face as female entrepreneurs in Philadelphia.”
The theme for Saturday Night’s game is “Beach Party,” and the vendors include:
Jammin J’s. Owned by Malikah Crosby, Jammin J’s is a seafood truck that specializes in fish tacos and shrimp sliders.
Fun’Nel Cakes and More. What’s a party without funnel cake? Janell Savoy has been serving up delicious funnel cakes out of her truck for over 5 years, with an array of sweet topping like cookies, strawberries, and with just good old fashioned powdered sugar.
Triple Bottom Brewery. A brewery with a mission, Triple Bottom was co-founded by CEO Tess Hart, and is one of only a handful of female owned breweries in the state of Pennsylvania. They don’t just serve beer, they build community, as they hire people who are otherwise excluded from the job market to meaningful, sustainable work.
“It’s a true all-star lineup,” said Chung. “And I can’t wait to enjoy them all.”
Gates open at 5 PM, with opening pull at 6. Steel drummer Emily Roane will provide entertainment before the game, and the West Windsor and Radnor high school ultimate frisbee teams will play at halftime. Both season tickets and single game tickets can be purchased at phoenixulti.com.
