PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (May 19, 2023) - The Philadelphia Phoenix of the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) have announced the team’s 2023 season sponsors, including Rothman Orthopaedics and Schweiger Dermatology Group. The team will celebrate its 10th anniversary season with 10 partners overall, primarily focusing on advancing health and wellness in the ultimate and greater sports communities.

“Our partners embody the core values of the Phoenix,” said Dr. Christina Lee Chung, Philadelphia Phoenix Co-Owner, AUDL Chief Medical Officer, and AUDL Inclusion Initiative (Ai)i Co-Chair. “While our goal on the field is to win an AUDL championship for the city of Philadelphia, off the field we are growing the game of ultimate through healthy lifestyles, youth instruction and community connection.”

The team features three sponsor tiers, including MVP (up to $10,000), All-Star (up to $5,000) and Pro (up to $2,000). Rothman Orthopaedic Group, an MVP partner, is a world leader in orthopedics, consistently ranked among the nation's best both locally and nationally. They serve as team physicians for the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, Radio City Rockettes, Orlando Magic, Trenton Thunder, Big East Conference and over 60 colleges and universities. 

Schweiger Dermatology Group, another MVP partner, is the largest dermatology practice in the region with 90 offices and over 300 physicians in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut. It offers a range of treatments from common dermatologic conditions to innovative and advanced treatments, with core priorities in prevention, early recognition and skin cancer treatment.

  • JAG-ONE Physical therapy is the primary sponsor of the Phoenix Ultimate Academy (PUA), which increases opportunities for Philadelphia area youth of all backgrounds, ages and skill levels to learn the exciting sport of ultimate from professional caliber players and instructors. Through this partnership, JAG-ONE and the Phoenix will team up to present a youth ultimate clinic series before each home game and 18 weeks of PUA summer camps across the Delaware Valley, giving community members an opportunity to compete and develop as ultimate disc athletes.
  • Shibe Vintage Sports is the Official Sports Store of the Philadelphia Phoenix and the exclusive merchandiser of the official “Hotbird'' gameday hat.   • BE Ultimate partners with the team for the “Sun Protection Initiative” to address the importance of sun safety for ultimate athletes worldwide. In addition, Eucerin and Aquaphor, brands under the Beiersdorf umbrella, provides SPF products for Phoenix players, staff and fans to amplify the program.

Philadelphia will be hosting the team’s home opener versus the New York Empire on Saturday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. ET at the James Ramp Memorial Recreation Center. The Phoenix have started the 2023 season with an 0-3 record, but look to rebound against the reigning 2022 AUDL Champions, and ultimately secure their second consecutive postseason appearance.
